South Cotabato’s 2022 model family will represent Region 12 for the Natatanging Pamilyang Pilipino (NPP) contest this year, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) announced.
The NPP aims to recognize and award exemplary Filipino families who have significantly contributed towards nation-building and the development of the family as the foundation of Philippine society, and to develop a pool of ambassadors in promoting Filipino values.
Provincial Social Welfare Officer, Sonia Bautista said, the Cornelio Family of Tampakan, represented by Mr. and Mrs. Georgie and Larraine Cornelio and children, is set to showcase their outstanding family values and contributions on the national stage. “Only two regions have submitted their nominations for the national awards ceremony to be held in Manila.”
Bautista said, The Model Family initiative, has been institutionalized through the Provincial Population Office, making it one of the few programs nationwide that actively seeks to identify and honor exemplary families. This initiative is fully supported by a corresponding ordinance.
In addition, Ester M. Ante, a dedicated volunteer in the Population Program and a Barangay Health Worker (BHW) hailing from Tupi, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions.
She has been nominated for the prestigious 2023 Rafael Salas Awards, proudly representing Region 12. Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Awards (RMSKPA) aims to recognize the efforts of barangay population workers/volunteers in their implementation of projects on responsible parenthood and family planning, adolescent health, and population and development.

As Region 12 celebrates these remarkable achievements, the province of South Cotabato’s Model Family victory and Ester M.
