The Provincial Population Office (PPO) continues to make strides in promoting responsible adolescence and preventing teenage pregnancy, reaching out to another Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Area (GIDA). This latest initiative brought vital education to Datal Biao Integrated School in Sitio Datal Biao, Barangay Danlag, Tampakan, benefiting 22 adolescents (12 males and 10 females) through an Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) film dissemination session.
The PPO’s advocacy efforts are specifically designed to educate young people on the importance of responsible behavior and health during their adolescent years. By targeting GIDAs, the PPO ensures that even the most remote and underserved communities have access to essential health education resources.
The AHD film dissemination session offered a dynamic and relatable method for conveying important messages about puberty, reproductive health, and the consequences of teenage pregnancy. Films are an effective educational tool, providing adolescents with a visual and narrative format that makes complex topics more understandable and engaging.
The PPO’s dedication to reaching GIDAs demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that all adolescents, regardless of their location, have the tools and knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their health. This session at Datal Biao Integrated School is part of a broader effort to bring essential health education to the most vulnerable and isolated communities in South Cotabato.
