South Cotabato celebrates Civil Service Month; honors public servants for dedication and excellence

South Cotabato, Philippines – In celebration of Civil Service Month this September, Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. has expressed his appreciation to all public servants of South Cotabato for their dedication and commitment to serving the people.

“Ang subong nga bulan, celebration ini sa Civil Service Month,” Gov. Tamayo Jr. said. “Isa ini ka paglantaw kag pagpuna sa aton nga mga civil servants—ang ila mga efforts sa pagpaabot sang serbisyong sibil sa aton nga mga katawhan.”

Gov. Tamayo Jr. noted during the “Gov Meets the Press” briefing that aside from recognizing the valuable contributions of public servants, this month is also an opportunity to evaluate and review the performance of government employees.

Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Fredeliza P. Gazo also extended her warm greetings at the start of the Civil Service Month celebration, saying, “The month of September has always been a very exciting month as the agency commemorates a month-long celebration for all public service providers.” She expressed her gratitude to all civil service providers for their outstanding work in serving the province of South Cotabato.

“As we officially open the Civil Service Month, we would like to extend our gratitude to all of you. Madamo gid nga salamat sa inyo padayon nga tama kag maayo nga serbisyong publiko diri sa probinsya sang South Cotabato,” she added.

Moreover, the Philippine Civil Service Commission is marking its 124th Founding Anniversary this year under the theme, Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes, focusing on the importance of sustainable management in creating a future-ready civil service.

As part of the celebration, various events will be held to honor the service and commitment of public servants. The highlights will include the Employees Day on September 20, 2024, at the South Cotabato Gymnasium, and the “Araw ng Parangal,” which will recognize outstanding employees and awardees, on September 27, 2024.

Additionally, Gazo announced during the Monday Convocation Program that the Civil Service Commission Regional Office has prepared several activities for all civil service providers, including a job fair, blood donation drive, tree-planting for a cause, and a national coastal clean-up.

Through the collaborative efforts of all government employees and the support of Governor Tamayo Jr., the province of South Cotabato remains committed to providing quality public service to its residents.
