South Cotabato, Philippines – South Cotabato is making headlines with nine out of ten municipalities and Koronadal City clinching their Certificates of Compliance for the province’s Cultural Mapping program. According to Indira N. Cagaanan, Tourism Operations Officer II, this milestone highlights the province’s dedication to preserving and promoting its cultural and natural treasures.

The program’s goal is to document and showcase the unique cultural and natural assets of South Cotabato’s diverse locales. By mapping these resources, the initiative aims to celebrate and preserve the province’s rich heritage.
The process is rigorous, with a keen focus on including the voices and traditions of the Indigenous Peoples of South Cotabato. Effective coordination is key, and the Tourism Office is busy finalizing and consolidating the necessary documents. These will soon be sent back to the municipalities and barangays for implementation.

Cagaanan emphasizes that community support and cooperation are critical for the completion of South Cotabato cultural map.
“We should live by our tagline as ‘Angat sa Lahat,’ which seeks to advance the province by leveraging its cultural and natural wealth,” Cagaanan added.
