Cultural Mapping Initiatives of the South Cotabato Arts Tourism Division: Recognized by National Evaluators from DILG-ACTS SOUTH COTABATO

SOUTH COTABATO, PHILIPPINES – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG NATIONAL) recently appreciated South Cotabato for its outstanding initiatives in achieving the cultural mapping here in South Cotabato. According to Argie Ryan Asaria, Senior Tourism Operational Officer of the Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office, this appreciation is a testament to their commitment to strengthening local governance.

Asaria expressed optimism about achieving excellent results from the project, viewing it as a significant honor for South Cotabato. He noted that the success of the cultural mapping not only benefits local communities but also enhances the province’s recognition for its rich culture and traditions.

Currently, South Cotabato is actively implementing a significant cultural mapping project led by Indira N. Caaganan, The Tourism Operations Officer II Arts and Culture Section. This initiative aims to identify and showcase the province’s unique cultural and artistic elements, thereby enhancing tourism development. In a recent statement, Caaganan revealed that their team is diligently validating and consolidating information to ensure the quality and credibility of their cultural mapping efforts.

The SGLG serves as a national award that acknowledges local governments demonstrating effective governance, transparency, and exemplary public service. Through initiatives like Cultural Mapping, South Cotabato exemplifies best practices in local governance, contributing to tourism growth and cultural preservation.
