South Cotabato, Philippines — Marking a historic win for the province, the SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) Meet 2025, hosted by Koronadal City in partnership with the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, has concluded successfully.
South Cotabato is the overall champion of the event, garnering 124 golds, 114 silvers, and 98 bronzes. This victory was the result of excellent performances at both the elementary and secondary levels, with 49 golds, 47 silvers, and 36 bronzes in elementary and 75 golds, 67 silvers, and 62 bronzes in secondary competitions.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. credited the province’s success to the unity and teamwork displayed by the athletes and delegates. He emphasized that the championship was a testament to the power of collaboration and collective effort.
“Ang pagsungkit natin ng kampyonato sa SRAA Meet 2025 ay dahil sa pagkakaisa at teamwork na ipinakita ng ating mga delegado, kasama ang suporta at tiwala ng buong South Cotabato,” Governor Tamayo said.
Governor Tamayo reflected on the province’s journey, sharing that during the early years of his term, South Cotabato consistently finished in second place. However, through strengthened discipline and a focus on the athletes’ commitment to training, the province finally achieved its long-sought goal of securing the championship this year.
“Ngayong taon, mas pinagtibay ang disiplina at pagkakaisa ng ating mga atleta,” Governor Tamayo emphasized. “At dahil na rin sa kanilang sakripisyo sa pagsasanay, ito ay nag resulta na maabot nila ang kapanalunan.”
With pride and honor, Governor Tamayo commended the dedication, sacrifices, and hard work of all the athletes and delegates who represented not only themselves but also their communities and the entire province.
“Ang kapanalunan ng ating mga kabataang atleta ay kapanalunan rin ng ating lalawigan,” he affirmed.
The SRAA Meet 2025 commenced on March 3, 2025, and concluded on March 7, 2025. The delegates from South Cotabato returned home victorious, celebrating their deserved medals and awards.
