South Cotabato, Philippines – Preparations are now in full swing at the greenhouses of the Provincial Nursery and Demonstration Farm in Banga, in anticipation of the upcoming T’nalak Agrifair 2025. This initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Riverside Fruits and Vegetables Association Incorporated of Barangay Sinolon, T’boli — a leading organization in organic and climate-resilient farming, particularly known for its cultivation of high-value crops.
Spearheaded by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, under the leadership of Dr. Raul D. Teves, the collaboration aims to highlight innovative technologies and organic farming practices utilized by the association, especially within greenhouse environments.
“Our goal is to equip South Cotabato’s farmers with tools and knowledge for long-term sustainability,” Dr. Teves. said “The T’nalak Agrifair allows us to demonstrate climate-resilient strategies that are both practical and community-driven.”
These preparations are part of the Farm Walk and Farmers Festival, set to take place this July alongside the vibrant celebration of the T’nalak Festival. Beyond showcasing modern methods, the site will also serve as a learning hub for farmers across the province who are interested in adopting sustainable and climate-smart agricultural practices.
Through their involvement, the Riverside Association aims to inspire more farmers to adopt innovation and technology, helping to modernize and strengthen agriculture in the face of climate change.
This effort underscores the vital role of collaboration between local government units and grassroots organizations in driving agricultural development and sustainability in the province.
