This prestigious recognition, conferred to the most exemplary population programs in the country, has affirmed the province’s commitment to people-centered governance and inclusive growth.

The Office of the Provincial Population Officer of South Cotabato emerged as the champion in the Provincial Category, showcasing a strong commitment to integrating the Population and Development (PopDev) Agenda into its core policies and services. Equally commendable were the efforts of the Local Population Office of Sto. These wins solidify South Cotabato’s dominance in the region, with multiple LGUs now officially representing Region XII in the upcoming national RMSKPA.

The Rafael M. Salas Kaunlarang Pantao Award, named after the first Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), honors outstanding LGUs that have successfully mainstreamed population and development strategies into local governance. The award serves as a tribute to Salas’ enduring legacy in championing human development and responsive governance, particularly in the area of population management.

These remarkable achievements by South Cotabato’s population offices not only bring pride to the province but also reaffirm its leadership in advocating programs that place people at the center of development. The province’s sustained efforts in advancing inclusive, gender-sensitive, and evidence-based initiatives reflect its unwavering vision of a community where every citizen is empowered.
