Some 25 members of the Community Development Information Council (CDIC) and Barangay Development Information Council (BDIC) of the municipality of Tampakan have undergone short-course training on News Writing and News Reporting last December 9 at D’ Garden Resort, Barangay Poblacion in the said municipality.
Tampakan Community Affairs Officer Efren Villarina in his message said that the training aims to refresh the CDIC and BDIC members on the basics of broadcasting, particularly on writing and reporting the news.
Tampakan LGU has a community radio station, 97.9 Spring Radio, which was established about 6 years ago that broadcasts development news to the constituents of the municipality.
Fruto Sumagaysay Jr., Information Officer III of South Cotabato LGU and former station manager of Bombo Radyo Koronadal, conducted the training which focused on news writing for broadcast and field reporting for radio.
CDIC and BDIC members wrote news about their respective beat and reported the same with corresponding cliniquing from the speaker.
Mayor Leonardo Escobillo also graced the occasion and likewise expressed his support to CDIC and BDIC for sponsoring the training, which he said is needed to upgrade the capability of the members.
Part of the training activity is the conduct of the Yearend Evaluation and Communication Planning for 2017 of the CDIC.
