SouthCot student-athletes to undergo 25-day training in prep for SRAA meet

The South Cotabato Athletic Association is set to start its 25-day training in preparation for the conduct of the Soccsksargen Regional Athletic Meet slated on February 17-22, 2019 at Kiamba, Sarangani province.
At least 700 qualified South Cotabato athlete, coaches, assistant coaches, and management staff are set to join the training starting January 23- February 16, 2019, at Surallah Central Elementary School.
Deped South Cotabato Division Superintendent Isagani Dela Cruz has issued a memorandum to all concerned individuals to join said activity which aims to provide qualified athletes opportunities to improve their strategies and game plan for winning the regional meet and national meet.
The memorandum also called on all participants to attend an orientation on January 22, a day before the training proper and are to bring their personal belongings, utensils, sleeping bags and; sports equipment.
The order also provides that all coaches must submit their respective training designs for the 25-days to include pertinent papers and documents of student-athletes.
The provincial government of South Cotabato supports the conduct of the training by allocating at least Php4.8 million through the Special Education Fund (SEF).
This year, the province has poured in a total of Php42 million for the said funds for use of the DepEd South Cotabato Division. Out of the said funds, at least Php19.2 million will be used for Sports Development programs.
The SCAA emerged as the champion in last year’s SRAA meet and hopes to maintain its spot this year for a grand slam win.
