The South Cotabato Airshed Governing Board (SCAGB) composed of DENR-EMB 12, Provincial Environment Management Office, City and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Offices and Non-Government Organizations recently conducted a Vehicle Smoke Emission Testing at the garage of Yellow Bus Lines, Inc.(YBL), one of the biggest bus companies in Mindanao located at General Santos Drive, Zone III, Koronadal City.
Thirty (30) diesel engine YBL bus units were subjected to emission but only 2 units failed the test.
The Vehicle Smoke Emission Testing is part of the on-going Anti-Smoke Belching Campaign of SCAGB province-wide.
Earlier, the group conducted roadside emission testing at Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City and another garage emission testing involving government vehicles in the municipality of Tupi.
SCAGB also plans to conduct a similar garage emission testing involving another bus company within this month.
It will also participate in the annual Tree-Growing Festival of Koronadal City this coming June 29.
