Bringing the government closer to the people—literally and meaningfully.
This was the goal of the Serbisyo Caravan, which recently made its way to the mountainous and often overlooked community of Barangay Malugong in Tboli, South Cotabato. A joint initiative of various offices, the caravan brought a wide range of essential public services straight to the doorsteps of residents in this remote area.
For many in Malugong, the arrival of the caravan was more than just a routine government outreach—it was a rare opportunity to access healthcare, documentation, and social assistance without having to travel long distances or spend money they don’t have.
Among those who welcomed the initiative is Belin Makin, a respected local leader who has seen firsthand the challenges her community faces every day. “Naka kuha kamo ng bigas, nakapag pa check-up kami. Masayang-masaya ako kaya nagpapasalamat ako kay gov, nagapasalamat ako sa nag himo sining serbisyo caravan.” she said, her voice filled with emotion.
The caravan offered a variety of services—from free medical consultations and medicines, to livelihood assistance, birth registration, and orientation on government programs. For elderly residents and those with limited mobility, it was a chance to receive care without leaving their barangay. More than just delivering services, the initiative also served as a symbol of inclusion and care. It reminded communities like Malugong that they are not forgotten—that they, too, deserve access to quality public service.
As the caravan continues its journey across South Cotabato, it carries with it a mission grounded in compassion and accountability: “Para sa tama kag maayo nga serbisyo para sa tanan.”
