The Dance Sector under the South Cotabato Culture & Arts Council (SCCAC) is now preparing for the Province-wide Folk Dance Workshop scheduled on February 17 – 18, 2024 at the Municipal Gymnasium, Polomolok.
Helen Grace Guadalupe, Dance Sector President disclosed that the objectives of the workshop are to promote and develop appreciation of Philippine Folk Dances among elementary pupils and high school students thru learning; improve teachers and choreographers’ pedagogy in teaching Philippine folk dances; and, strengthen the teachers and choreographers rapport.
Guadalupe added that the workshop is also in preparation for the upcoming folk dance contest dubbed 2nd SAOT T’nalak Festival Folk Dance Competition this coming July 2024.
After series of 4 Dance Workshops, the participants will have a Group Dance Presemtation to be followed by the Closing Program.
The workshop which was funded P30,000 by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum Unit, is part of the National Arts Month 2024 celebration with its theme “Ani ng Sinihg, Bayang Malikhain.(photocredit;www.youtube.com)
