The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) reminded all barangays in the province to comply with drug –clearing program after several of them have not submitted yet the pertinent documents needed.
During the three-day orientation on the Philippine Anti-Drug Abuse Strategy (PADS), DILG Provincial Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero explained the importance of the role of the barangays in the drug-clearing efforts.
“The barangays know everybody inside the community, and all data gathered by police authorities need verification from these barangays,” Sero said,
She also asks the help of the Philippine National Police to assist these barangays to fast track the preparation of the folders to be submitted to the Oversight Committee for review.
Part of the orientation is also the formulation of the Local Ant-Drug Plan of Action (LADPA) and PADS Implementation Plan (Implan) cum ADAC Performance Audit, ADAC Functionality Management System (ADAC-FMS) and Integrated Drug Monitoring and Reporting System (IDMRIS).
Earlier, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency also reiterates the compliance of these barangays.
While Governor Reynaldo Tamayo ordered all barangays to submit their folders. At least 51 more barangays have not submitted their folders for drug-clearing, while the 142 barangays are subject to revalidation.
The activity is being sponsored by the Provincial Anti-drug Abuse Council (PADAC) from October 2-4, 2019 at Mountain Lake Eco Resort at Lake Sebu. It was attended by at least 55 participants coming from the local government units, national line agencies, the PNP and the ADACs.
