Koronadal City, South Cotabato—Residents of Prk. 5. Barangay Lapu, Polomolok, South Cotabato, celebrated the opening of their farm-to-market road after Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. talked to farm owners.
Barangay Chairman Basil S. Nilong confirmed that the road project was a key request to the Provincial Government of South Cotabato.
Initially, the community asked for a livelihood program, but instead, they received support for the Farm to Market Road. This initiative is designed to make it easier for residents to transport their crops and other products, increasing their accessibility to broader markets.
“Pinili po naming itong Farm to Market Road na hiningi namin kay Gov. na Project Dahil ito yong nakikita naming na naging ugat ng problema dito sa Barangay Lapu,” Chairman Nilong stated
He highlighted the road’s positive impact, transforming what was once a dark and difficult-to-reach area into a well-lit, accessible location for the community. Residents now feel the tangible benefits of the provincial government’s program.
Governor Tamayo’s Farm to Market Road project is one of the key pilot initiatives under his leadership. It aims to provide infrastructure that supports the agricultural economy. The project ensures smoother and more efficient transportation for the local farmers, allowing them to expand their reach and opportunities for their products.
