Koronadal City, South Cotabato – Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. joyfully welcomed back the provincial government employees during the first flag-raising ceremony and the first Monday of the year, on January 4 at the Provincial Capitol covered court in this city.
He shared the unfortunate experience that he and his family went through during the last month of 2020, and all his personal realizations after his loved ones defeated COVID-19, as well.
“Happy New Year sa aton tanan, kag welcome back sa Kapitolyo. Grabe ang mga naagyan naton nga challenges last year, kag nagapati ako nga kung ano man ka bug-at ang mga challenges subong nga tuig, kayang-kaya naton ini,” the governor said.
He thanked the regular employees for sharing part of their Collective Negotiation Agreement Bonus (CNA) to the job order employees last December, and assured that he will make every effort to fast track the supplemental budget for their gratuity fee.
“Nakita niyo man nga kung ano ang due para sa inyo last year, gin-maximize gid naton ang inyo nga CNA, salamat man sa aton mga regular employees sa paghatag sang ayuda sa aton mga job order employees. Congratulations sa inyo tanan. Gusto ko man ipabalo nga syempre ang nahatag naton sa mga job orders bal-an ko, hindi man gid to siya enough. Daw gamay lang gid to sya. So gani, subong nga January, ipapaspasan naton ang supplemental budget for gratuity fee para sa aton mga job orders nga 3,000. Kag para naman sa mga regular employees, para wala na kita sang adjustments, kung pwede, ang inyo nga new rate na ang inyo i-prepare for January. Ma-increase man ang sweldo sang aton regular employees subong nga tuig. Ara naman ina sa aton annual budget,” he declared.
The governor also expressed his gratitude to the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for approving the provincial government’s annual budget for 2021, which is now ready to be utilized beginning January 1.
Aside from sharing the good news, Governor Tamayo also congratulated the capitol employees for doing an excellent job in the performance of their duties in the past year. He also encouraged them to keep on doing their best and to not allow the pandemic to become a hindrance in serving the public with the best of their abilities.
“Gusto ko lang ipabalo sa tanan nga katawhan sang South Cotabato labi na gid sa aton mga empleyado nga despite the challenges nga naagyan naton sang 2020, naging mapag-on kita, kag naka-deliver gid kita services didto sa aton mga constituents. Nabatyagan ko ina sa pagpanaog ko sa mga barangay, nabatyagan sang mga tao ang serbisyo nga wala nila gina expect tungod sa pandemic nga aton gin-agyan, pero nakita nila nga grabe gid ang serbisyo sa probinsya sang South Cotabato, kaya congratulations sa inyo nga tanan.”
“Gina-encourage ko gid ang tanan nga employees diri, habang may tsansa kita nga kita ang nagadala sang serbisyo sa katawhan kag sang aton nga probinsya, himuon ta gid ang tanan nga mahimo naton. Kag pirmi naton isipon, nga kung ano man ang matabo, madula man kita, automatically ang mabulos sa aton, kung ano ang nakita nila nga direksyon nga may ara kita, sundon to nila kung maayo man ang ila direksyon,” he also said.
The local chief executive also mentioned that because the pandemic has been around for almost a year already, they have fortunately made a lot of adjustments to the new normal. However, because of the new strains of the virus which are believed to be stronger and faster in transmission, health protocols should be followed even more strictly.
“Gina-encourage ko tanan nga magpadayon sa pag serbisyo naton diri sa probinsya, kita mismo ang magpakita sang kaisog sa pag-atubang sang sini nga pandemic, kay nakasalalay ang aton nga mga constituents sa aton. Ipakita ta man sa ila ang pagiging isa ka modelo nga dapat gasunod sa mga protocols para masiguro gid naton nga hindi mag spread ang ini nga virus sa aton community,” he added.
In closing, the governor declared that he has envisioned 2021 to be a big break in the province’s economy, and that South Cotabato would continue to progress, as long as everyone would keep on working in unity.
