South Cotabato, Philippines — In the continuous journey toward growth and progress, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. emphasizes the importance of fostering unity among local communities and local government units while promoting a problem-solving attitude in addressing social issues.
This is in response to the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) possible declaration of a food security emergency, which is often based on factors such as low supply of rice, said Governor Tamayo.
He clarified that the real issue does not lie in the supply but in the price hike of rice, which has led to widespread concerns among local communities. Despite the availability of rice from NFA, some residents tend to overlook the solutions provided and focus instead on raising complaints.
Governor Tamayo assured the local communities that the local government has already worked on several measures to address the issue. He also encouraged the people to be a part of the solution by voicing their concerns and offering practical solutions.
Furthermore, Governor Tamayo appealed to local communities to adopt a problem-solving attitude, as he believes that such an approach could help the province resolve issues related to inflation.
“Panawagan ko sa buong sambayanan, sa mga kasamahan namin sa basic sectors, at sa mga leagues from barangay to provincial level na hikayatin at ipaalam natin sa mga tao na kailangan maging parte tayo ng solusyon,” he pleaded.
Governor Tamayo expressed that instead of constantly complaining, people should unite in implementing practical solutions, which is essential for the province’s growth and development. In addressing social issues, it is important for South Cotabato to stand together, find solutions, and contribute to overcoming the challenges our province faces.
