South Cotabato, Philippines – Education remains at the forefront of Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr.’s priorities, as he continues to champion learning as a gateway to a better future.
In an upcoming meeting, the Department of Education (DepEd) Division Office will tackle key educational initiatives, with Provincial Administrator Atty. Renette B. Bergado set to deliver a special message from the governor.
Atty. Bergado emphasized Governor Tamayo’s unwavering commitment to education, particularly in remote areas such as Lake Sebu and Tboli, where access to learning opportunities remains a challenge. The governor has made it his mission to encourage residents—especially the youth—to pursue their studies despite difficulties, believing that education is the key to unlocking greater opportunities.
During one of his visits, a graduate from the community shared a heartfelt concern:
“Governor, my aunt spent years completing her education, but after graduating, she struggled to find work here in our town. I even thought of quitting my studies because I feared the same fate.”
This testimony reflects the realities faced by many students in far-flung communities, further fueling Governor Tamayo’s resolve to push for better access to education and employment opportunities in South Cotabato.
Governor Tamayo’s message remains steadfast:
“Study, because education is your ticket to a better future.”
Atty. Bergado assured that the provincial government will continue to uphold this vision. “We are relaying the governor’s message loud and clear—no one should be left behind in South Cotabato. Education is the bridge to a better life.”
With the governor’s strong advocacy, South Cotabato moves forward in its commitment to making education more accessible, ensuring that every student has the chance to build a brighter future.
