South Cotabato, August 15 2024 – Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., secured provincial loan funds to transform the earthquake-damaged Protech Center into a new Building hospital building. This new facility is set to significantly enhance healthcare services in South Cotabato, addressing the region’s critical need for expanded and improved medical care.

The new hospital building will replace the outdated Protech Center. With the completion of this new building and the hospital extension, the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital is designed to accommodate between 800 and 1,000 patients. This upgrade is a response to the current overcrowding at the Provincial Hospital, which, despite having a capacity for 200 patients, frequently serves over 400, straining medical staff and impacting care quality.
Governor Tamayo highlighted that this initiative is part of his administration’s broader effort to modernize healthcare infrastructure. The state-of-the-art hospital promises to provide a more comfortable and efficient environment for both patients and medical staff, ensuring timely and high-quality medical care for residents.
