CITY OF KORONADAL — The South Cotabato Incident Management Team (IMT) has created a Task Force that will oversee the arrival of Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROF) and Locally Stranded Individuals (LSI) in the province during their meeting here last May 26.
The Provincial Governor’s Office – Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum Promotion Unit (PGO-ACTM) headed by Indira “Dinky” Cagaanan will chair the task force and assisted by other agencies such as the provincial DILG, South Cotabato PNP, AFP, PSWDO, PGO – Information Division, PESO, DOLE and OWWA.
Primary task of the group is to oversee and coordinate with the respective LGUs of the province on the smooth transport of the ROF and LSI upon their arrival at General Santos City International Airport (GSC-IA).
The arrival of the bulk of ROF and LSI in the province started over the weekend when some 85 of them arrived by batches in GSC-IA.
Earlier, the first batch arrived at Allah Valley Airport in Surallah town where they were fetched and transported to assigned quarantine areas for the mandatory 14-day quarantine.
The latest ROF and LSI to arrive were likewise fetched by their respective LGU and transported to quarantine areas.
The province expects the exodus of ROF and LSI arrival in the weeks to come as the national government gave their go-signal to repatriate them to their provinces.
