KPSP-GIA prioritizes solo parents, Muslim ethnic group

The South Cotabato Board earlier includes solo parents and members of the Muslim ethnic group as additional priorities of the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-in-Aid Program.
The KPSP-GIA programs which aims to provide educational assistance to deserving residents of the Province of South Cotabato by way of monetary aid as scholarship is now open to these two sectors in the province in addition to the indigent sector, Persons with Disability, members of the indigenous peoples and to those who have given honor to the province.
South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. recently requested for the amended of said resolution to suit with the present need and time.
The resolution also provides that “with the advancement and changes in the educational system of our country and for the province to catch up with the international educational standard, there is a need to revisit and make changes in the existing ordinances”.
Aside from the inclusion of said two sectors, the SP also made relevant amendments to the program.
Resolution No. 46 Series of 2020 entitled “A Resolution enacting ordinance No.1 Series of 2020, amending Provincial Ordinance No.20 series of 2014 and Ordinance No. 21, series of 2015, Establishing the Kabugwason-Paglaum Scholarship and Grant-In-Aid programs in the province of South Cotabato”, is authored by Hon. Ma. Ester Marin-Catorce, SP Committee chairperson on Education.
Said resolution also covers the amendments on the program on Degree Courses, Ladderized Courses, Grant-in-Aid, and the Post-Graduate Courses.
