Nat’l Tourism Month Celebration Update … Musicians rehearse, record song composition

CITY OF KORONADAL — The top 10 finalists of the “Kemnahe Lingon” (I Dream of Songs in T’boli dialect) Song-writing Contest spearheaded by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Promotions and Development Unit rehearsed and recorded their respective final song piece from August 29 – September 1 at Aqua Frio Resort, this city.

Netizens can hear the compositions via the Land of the Dreamweavers Official Facebook Page which will be uploaded by the ACTM IT staff and voting through social media will commence on September 14 and will end on September 29 (12 noon), a day before the final judging on September 30.

The top 10 compositions with their respective composers that netizens can vote upon are as follows: Mocowo Edeni Be South Cotabato – Yzel Duque, Dali Don, Tara Na – Rey Ortilano, Yakap ng South Cotabato – Kearly Joy Victorio / Ela Salada, Sugod Na Sa Sox – Adonis Flores Jr., Wonders of South Cotabato – Ryan Gazo, Dali Na, Biyahe Ta! – Stephen Celestial, Timog Mo, Timog Ko! – Jong Mabayog, It’s More Fun in South Cotabato – Aldrin Mananes, Beauty of the South – Kim Nathaniel Tan, Let’s Go Sa South – Justin Santiago.

The finalists will likewise radio-hop among selected radio stations starting September 15 – 29 as well as perform live during the regular Monday Convocation Program  of different LGUs they will visit for the general public to hear and appreciate their original musical compositions.

Judges will score the compositions based on Musicality, Style, Interpretation, and Tourism and Cultural Integration, while a certain percentage of the criteria will be scored by netizens via the Land of the Dreamweavers Official Facebook Page as part of the criteria.

Up for grab are cash prizes of P20,000 for the first place winner, P15,000 for the second place winner, P10,000 for the third place winner and P5,000 each as consolation prize for the 4th up to 10th place winners.
