New investment seen to boost agriculture industry

Chinese investors from Maylong Enterprises led by Mr. Bill Ho made a return visit in the province for another round of investment exploration. Facilitated by the South Cotabato Economic and Investments Promotion Center (SCEIPC) through Mr. Tyron Jann B. Villanueva, and the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAGRI), the team went to the Municipality of Banga to visit the (1) Cassava Processing Facility and Plantation of San Jose Multipurpose Cooperative, and the (2) Demo Farm.
This venture aims to seal production and marketing agreements for cassava to meet the growing demand of the said commodity in China.
The investors are also interested in the areas of Durian Production and Greenhouse Project for High-Value Crops. The team visited OrganiKian Urban Farm & Cafe in Koronadal City owned by Mr. Christian Castañeda, to showcase the farm’s Greenhouse facility and forge a potential partnership in urban farming. To cater the investor’s preference, the team proceeded to visit Brgy. Miasong and Kitobo in the Municipality of Tupi to check the elevation and weather for the suitability of their proposed Greenhouse Facility. As a result, the investors are now looking for available properties in the area.
The team also visited the Durian Farm in Mercyville Orphanage to inspect the quality of durian and to check the extent of production. The investor plans to construct a production and processing plant in the province once the required volume of durian supply is met.
The series of site visits concluded with a shared vision of investment cooperation to ignite and continue the economic development in the province.
