South Cotabato, Philippines – After over four months of renovations, the Newly rehabilitated rubberized oval track of the South Cotabato sports complex was officially reopened to the public last Thursday, March 27, 2025.
The official turnover and ribbon cutting ceremony was spearheaded by the Provincial Engineer’s Office together with the South Cotabato Economic Enterprise Management Office.
Mr. Tyronn Jan Villanueva, SCEEMO General Manager Designate, lauded the efforts of South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for allocating funds in renovating the almost three-decades old Sports Complex calling it one of the “Legacy Projects” under the Governor’s Administration.
In addition, Mr. Paul Millan, South Cotabato Sports Coordinator also shared his excitement as these newly renovated facilities will attract more tourists through sports tourism among the youth in the province.
Meanwhile, the public expressed excitement towards the reopening of the sports complex oval track.

“I’m very much happy sa results sang renovation, mas nami na ang kalidad kag mag komportable na mag dalagan… isa ini ka dako nga improvement sa mga mahilig mag jogging kag mag dalagan sa sports complex…” – Christine Shane Pe stated in an interview.
The renovation of the South Cotabato Sports Complex Oval Track is just one of many infrastructure projects of the current administration of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr.
