Php3.5 million water project to benefit IP communities in Tboli

Indigenous Communities coming from the three barangays composed of eight sitios at the municipality of Tboli will benefit from the construction of a potable water project worth Php3.5 million initiated by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr.

Earlier, the team coming from the Environment and Occupational Health program under Sanitary Inspector Jose Barroquillo Jr. visited the project site to collect water samples for water analysis at Sitio Desdeng of Brgy. Salacafe. Aside from Barangay Salacafe, the barangays of New Dumangas and Lacunon will also benefit from the said project. “The area was so steep and dangerous to climb but we have to endure the terrain,” Barroquillo said, Aside from water sampling, the major purpose of the site visit was also to conduct of ocular inspection for possible source and water development, construction of reservoir intake boxes to supply areas identified. Barroquillo said other members of the team include Engr. Arnold Alba, project manager; Alfred Galeno Sr., convergence officer from PPDO; Joel Tianga, member of the Project Monitoring Team, and CJ Tunan, Rural Health Midwife. They were accompanied by barangay and sitio officials during the site visit.
