PPO resumes F2F Most Outstanding Model Family Search

The Provincial Population Office (PPO)  has resumed the face-to-face evaluation for this year’s  Search for Most Outstanding Model Family in the province of South Cotabato both for the Indigenous People (IP) and Regular Model Family categories.

The search,  which is one of the good practices in the province and in the entire nation aims to recognize the contribution of families who showed exemplary practices worthy of emulation in support of “family welfare and development”.

For the  regular model family category, this year’s nominees  coming from the province’s ten towns and lone city are the following:

Mr. Efren and Mrs. Marichu Handog of Tupi

Mr. Hernan and Mrs. Teresita Javellana of  Banga

Mr. Benjie and  Mrs. Emma Blonto of  Lake Sebu

Mr. Gonde  and Mrs. Felovilla Sadiang-abay of  Tantangan

Mr. Georgie and Mrs. Larraine Cornelio of  Tampakan

Mr. Mario and Mrs. Salvacion  Casica of   Sto. Nino

Mr. Gregorio and  Mrs.   Dorothy Otero of Norala

Mr. Leonard and  Mrs.  Adelaide Ballon of   Surallah

Mr. Edgardo and   Mrs. Sonia Dizon of   Tboli

Mr. Romeo and Mrs. Juliet Manoop of   Polomolok

Mr. Edilberto  and Mrs. Sonia Pama of  Koronadal City

For the IP Model Family, there are eight nominees, these include the following:

Mr. Danilo and  Mrs.Linda Malida of Tupi

Pastor Pin and   Pastora Lea Gallero of  Banga

Mr. Ruben and  Mrs. Lorna Mayada of Lake Sebu

Mr. Romeo and   Mrs. Teresita Feles of  Tampakan

Mr. Ronald and  Mrs. Elena Taflan of   Surallah

Mr. Methusila and  Mrs.  Lucia Malida of  Polomolok

Mrs.  Bernie and  Mrs. Gracelia  FIang of  Koronadal City

The criteria for choosing the  Model family focus on the quality of the relationship between and among husband, wife, and children (25%), Quality of Persons (25%), Ability to manage resources (20%), Involvement in Community Development activities (20%) and Quality of Conditions at Home (10%).

Added criteria for the IP Model family is how they preserve their culture and traditions.

Provincial Population Officer Zenaida Duron said the awarding ceremony for the  Model IP family is set on  October 25, 2022, at the South Cotabato Gym and Culture Center which is in time for the culmination of the Indigenous Peoples’ Month celebration.

For the Regular Model family category, the awarding ceremony is set on November 24, 2022, at Biarong’s Bistro.
