Prov’l Gov’t managers, supervisors undergo Executive Leadership Training Workshop

Some 60 provincial government employees undergo Executive Leadership Program and Governance Innovations Management Training-Workshop at The Farm, Carpenter Hill last March 5 – 6, sponsored by the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD) under Dr. Roditt Delfino.

Ralph Irish Aguda, a former junior executive in the Supreme Court and presently under graduate school program study grant in the United States, conducted the 2-day training among employees occupying division or department head positions, either permanent or Officer-In-Charge status.

As a starter, employees were introduced into two topics entitled “Foundations of Leadership and Management” and “Understanding of the Fundamental Concepts of Leading and Managing People Focused on Mentoring and Coaching.”

Aguda emphasized in this topic the concept of “lead-man” or leader-manager as well as the aspects of coaching and mentoring subordinates.

The session progressed with other topics presented such as “Integration of the Development of Organizational Culture through Assessment of Personal Leadership Style Focused on Monitoring and Supervision”.

Participants were made to answer a questionnaire to assess their Personal Leadership Style which is collaborating, competing, avoiding, harmonizing or compromising.

A “Back-Stabbing” session was likewise conducted that was fully enjoyed by the participants, where each one of them was instructed to attach a sticker paper at the back shirt of anyone and written in it is the word that best describe him or her.

The concluding topics of the training focused on “Understanding Innovation, Creativity and Change Management”; ”Knowledge Transfer on Strategic Decision-Making”; “Introduction to Business Communication, Influence and Persuasion.”

Participants here were taught the different strategies or techniques in implementing change and strategic decisions, avoiding stress in the workplace and writing business communication.

The training-workshop finished with the distribution of certificates of completion and group photo of participants.

Aguda was likewise given a Plaque of Appreciation by Atty. Rhona Gallego, Chief of Staff of Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes during the closing program.
