SCPH compound to expand at ProTech Center

The Productivity and Technology Center will soon become an expansion area of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital compound as a way to decongest the continuing increase in the number of clients of the health facility.
In a resolution approved recently by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Resolution No. 61 Series of 2020 enacts Ordinance No. 2 which declares the ProTech Center as the expansion area of the SCPH.
South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. earlier requests for the approval of Sangguniang Panlalawigan to declare the 2,332.556 Square meters land area situated at the ProTech Center to be the additional area for the SCPH compound.
Said land covered by tax assessment no. 11-003-00563 with lot no. 991-C is owned by the provincial government of South Cotabato.
Based on the said resolution authored by Hon. Ellen Grace N. Subere- Albios and Hon. Eamon Gabriel V. Matti, with Co-authors: Hon. Ma. Ester Marin-Catorce Hon. Hilario G. De Pedro VI Hon. Henry L. Ladot, Hon. Glezel D. Mariano- Trabado Hon. Alyssa Marie Fale, there is a need for the expansion due to the increasing number of patients at the SCPH which has reached an average Bed Occupancy Rate 212.56% equivalent to 425.12 patients per day in 2019.
With inclusion of the South Cotabato as the pilot area of the Universal Health Care demonstration site in Region XII, the number of clients who will avail health services are expected to increase, the resolution states.
The resolution added, this situation will continue despite the Php200 million 4-storey hospital building project of the DOH to be implemented in the current SCPH compound.
