KORONADAL, SOUTH COTABATO- The South Cotabato Rehabilitation and Detention Center (SCRDC) remains COVID-free as of October 22, 2020.
According to SCRDC Provincial Jail Warden Felicito D. Gumapac, Jr. the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) conducted disinfection and sanitation activities last month to ensure the safety of the inmates and the facilities.
“Sa karuncovid-free pa kita kay madamo kita sa protocol nga ginapatuman. Last September 26, nag conduct man sang disinfection ang PDRRMO naton.” Provincial jail warden said during the media press conference.
For now, the administration of the center does not accept visitors and prohibits the bringing of foods to the inmates.
“Ginabawalan naton ang dalaw anay kag pagdul-ong sang pagkaon, ang gina baton naton subong ang kwarta lang kag mga bulong.” He added.
Meanwhile, as of the press time, there are 1,540 inmates in SCRDC, 1,454 of whichare male, and 86 are female.
Out of the 1,454 inmates, 954 are related to drug cases, 880 are male, and 79 are female.
