Some were in tears, others shouted for joy as they received their sought-after wheelchairs. Earlier today, seven beneficiaries composed of senior citizens and persons with disability from the municipality of Polomolok received this device which they can use for their mobility both for outdoor and indoor use.
Bryan Hervilla, Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Unit Head together with his staff personally distributed said wheelchairs to the beneficiaries which include Elvin James Parasan, 6 years old from Brgy. Landan ; Jesusa Sombreno, 86 years old; Bitty Galicia, 67 years old; Reynaldo Montecalvo, 60 years old; Ernita Babayan, 84 years old; Anastacio Acosta Jr., 71 years old, all from Brgy. Magsaysay; and Maimona Abpit, 87 years old, from Brgy. Koronadal Proper.
These are part of the 200 wheelchairs intended for the whole province of South Cotabato. As early as February this year, distribution has reached the municipalities of Norala, Koronadal City, Tantangan, Sto. Nino, Banga, Surallah, Lake Sebu, Tboli, Tampakan and Tupi.
To date, at least 163 wheelchairs were distributed province-wide. To those who want to avail, kindly send your request to the Provincial Disability Affairs Unit for validation. Kindly submit the Barangay Certificate of Indigency and a whole-body picture of the beneficiary.
