Koronadal City—With the looming cost of electricity, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato planned to install solar panels at the Provincial Hospital, Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. announced.
“We can save at least P2M from electricity cost when we establish solar panels,” the governor commented during an interview.
The governor tried alternative sources of energy to save on energy costs.
A group of Malaysian investors visited the governor recently to lay down the cost-efficiency measures for using solar energy systems. The strategy is to save P1.2M a month or P24M a year.
“Kung gagamit tayo ng solar energy aabot sa 1800 na mga bata ang mapagtapos natin sa kolehiyo,” the governor explained.
The expected increase in power cost pushed the governor to turn to renewable energy.
Solar energy and hydropower are one of the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy sources available in South Cotabato.
