South Cotabato, Philippines – The provincial government of South Cotabato has reported a 70% utilization rate of its allocated resources for development projects, a significant milestone in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of services to its constituents.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. emphasized that the 70% utilization rate reflects the province’s commitment to maximizing resources, including finances and facilities, to improve public service. He added that increasing this rate remains a priority, ensuring that government efforts directly benefit the people of South Cotabato.

“The 70% utilization rate means that the resources we have allocated are being used properly and in a timely manner,” Governor Tamayo said.

“This directly translates into better services for our constituents, whether it be infrastructure, healthcare, education, or livelihood programs,” he explained.

Governor Tamayo has been pushing to further improve the province’s utilization rate as part of his administration’s broader goal of achieving the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). The SGLG is a prestigious recognition given to local government units that exhibit excellence in governance, transparency, and effective resource management.

According to the governor, increasing the utilization rate is not only about fulfilling financial obligations but ensuring that development projects are executed efficiently and deliver meaningful impact on the lives of South Cotabato’s residents. The governor believes that continued efforts to optimize resource usage will pave the way for sustainable development and a higher quality of life across the province.

“We aim to improve the utilization rate even more,” Tamayo added. “By ensuring that our resources are fully utilized and our projects are completed on time, we are laying the groundwork for sustained progress in South Cotabato.”

The utilization rate is considered a key performance indicator in governance, and its improvement is a critical component in the province’s pursuit of good local governance.
