South Cotabato celebrated the birth anniversary of Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan (GAMABA) for tabih weaving Yabing Masalon Dulo with wreath-laying on August 8 held at her grave site in Sitio Amguo, Barangay Landan, Polomolok.
Fu Yabing, as she was fondly called in her community, is 109 years old and received the GAMABA Award last 2016.
Her immediate family led the wreath-laying and candle-lighting ceremony and later joined by representatives of Polomolok LGU, provincial employees and invited guests.
Arthur Gulili, grandson of Fu Yabing, led the simple program with an Opening Remarks followed by Messages from Jay Artuz of Polomolok Arts & Culture Office and Senior Tourism Operations Officer Argie Ryan Asaria of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit.
After the wreath-laying, the launchind of the Loom Weaving Equipment ensued followed by a Lecture on Culture Awareness by NCCA Commissioner Reden Ulo.
Last August 3, ACTM also celebrated the 95th birth anniversary of Boi Lang Dulay of Sitio T’bomg, Lamdalag, Lake Sebu.
