The Province of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., has been honored with the top spot in Region XII for its fiscal performance in 2023. The recognition was awarded by the Bureau of Local Government Finance and the Regional Association of Local Treasurers and Assessors XII during the “Fiscal Performance Assessment and Awarding CY 2023 for SOCCSKSARGEN LGUs” held at Hotel de Viajera, Koronadal City.
The award highlights South Cotabato’s achievements in the following areas:
The Provincial Treasurer’s Office, was recognized as Top 1 among the Provinces of Region XII for Fiscal Year 2023 in Nominal Collection, with a total of ₱710,656,812.00, and for having the Lowest National Tax Allocation Dependency Rate at 78.57%.
Similarly, the Provincial Assessor’s Office, was acknowledged as Top 1 among the Provinces of Region XII for Fiscal Year 2023 in Year-on-Year Growth Rate of Taxable and Exempt Real Property Units, achieving a growth rate of 3.70%.
This success is attributed to the collaborative efforts of various provincial government offices, including the Provincial Assessor’s Office (PASSO), Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO), South Cotabato Economic Enterprise Management Office (SCEEMO), Provincial-managed Hospitals, Provincial Environment and Management Office (PEMO), Provincial Veterinarian Office (PVET), and all income-generating units of South Cotabato.
Their unwavering dedication and hard work have significantly boosted the local income collection of the province in 2023. The Provincial Government remains dedicated to continuing its programs and initiatives to further the development and prosperity of South Cotabato.
