SouthCot LGU and DSWD FO XII inks three MOAs

KORONADAL CITY – Three Memorandum of Agreements were signed today between South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo s. Tamayo Jr. and Department of Social Welfare and Development 12 Regional Director Loreto V. Cabaya at the Office of the Governor, this city.
The MOA includes the Relief Prepositioning of a least 500 Family Food Packs (FFP) which will be stocked at the province’s Demonstration Farm Warehouse located in Banga town.
The FFP according to the welfare department is the core response modality of the government in terms of food assistance distributed to families affected by disasters or emergencies composed of emergency food and non-food relief items.
Governor Tamayo said the location is very conducive since the Demo Farm is adjacent to almost all towns within the province for easy access.
Included in the MOA is also the Donation of Women/Child-Friendly space kits.
For the Child-friendly space kits, the donations were composed of three boxes with assorted items inside, 36 plastic chairs, 1 pc table, and 1 pc whiteboard.
Two boxes were also given for the women-friendly space kits composed of various office and other office supplies.
Meanwhile, under the implementation of the Risk Resiliency Program- Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation- Disaster Risk Reduction (RRP-CCAM) the proposed “ Barangay Environment Enhancement Program supporting disaster resilience in 199 barangays was approved. Under the said projects, at least Php15.3 million worth of cash for work funds was allocated for the Water and Sanitation, Disaster Mitigation, Partnership, and Capacity Building of the province’s 10 towns and lone city. At least 4, 414 target beneficiaries will benefit through cash for work program.
