SouthCot’s peace and order initiative gets Php88.1 million

Peace and Order initiatives in South Cotabato will have funding support of Php88.1 million for this year.

During the 1st Quarter meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) held early this week,  the council chaired by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo  Jr.,  represented by Provincial Administrator Atty. Renette B. Bergado discussed issues and concerns to further improve the peace and order;  and public safety including anti-insurgency measures in the province.

DILG Provincial Director Atty. Rochelle D. Mahinay-Sero as the head secretariat of the council discussed the proposed Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPA) under the Peace and Order Program 2021 Annual Budget and the support to different council members which were broken down as follows;

Support to PPOC Chair’s Office including and Operation of Bahay Pag-asa amounting to Php17.8 million.

Support to Police Operations, Php15.7 million.

Support to Military operations, Php14.3 million.

Support to Provincial Task Force-Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC), Php5.2 million.

Support to PPOC and ELCAC Secretariat, Php4 million.

Support to Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) including operations of half-way House, Php10.39 million

Support to Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council including operation of Balay Silangan, Php20 million.

During the meeting, it was ruled out that from the over-all Php88.1 million annual budget, Php26 million will be intended for confidential expenses.
