SP approves wage increase of Job orders and Contract of Service workers by 15%

Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) workers under the Provincial Government of South Cotabato will receive an additional 15% increase on their daily wage starting next year after the Sangguniang Panlalawigan earlier approved the revised wage rates of these workers.

Aside from the salary increase, the  SP also approved the creation of additional JOs and COs positions of the province as earlier proposed by Governor  Reynado S. Tamayo Jr.

Based on Resolution No.491 Authored by Boardmember Noel J. Escobillo, entitled, ” A Resolution approving the revised wage rate of job order and contract of service workers and the creation of additional job and contract of service positions in the provincial government of South Cotabato,” at least 100 JOs and COs positions will receive 15% wage increase.

Out of these, 14 technical positions with a salary grade of 9 to 12 with a current salary which ranges from  Php675.00/day to Php845 will receive a new rate of Php776/day to  Php971/ day.

For the 69 non-technical positions,  with the lowest salary of Php320/day to Php490/day will receive a salary increase of  Php368/day to Php563/day.

For the 14 contracts of service workers which has a fixed monthly salary will also receive a 15% increase.

The SP also approved the salary increase of eight positions with above 15% increase.

Three more contracts of service positions were approved, which include agriculture consultant, with a salary of Php25,000; Special Assistant to the governor with a salary of Php25,000; and  Director of the Balay Silangan Reformatory Center with a salary of Php40,000 was approved by the SP.

The resolution provides that the wage increase is aimed at augmenting the workforce in the provincial government by the creation of additional positions and compensating the JO and COS workers of the province for the services they rendered by increasing their current wage rate.
