. NINO, SOUTH COTABATO — Three (3) barangays in the municipality of Sto. Nino trained on Cultural Mapping spearheaded by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Development and Promotions Unit from November 26 – 27 here.
Barangays Poblacion, Ambalgan and San Isidro with 3 representatives each formed part of the team that underwent the 2-day training which includes lecture, field work and reporting of output.
ACTM Cultural Mapping Focal Person Annaliz Cabrido conducted the training with discussion first of the four (4) modules on Cultural Mapping prior to the conduct of actual field work that include data gathering and interview. The topics were as follows: Module #1 – What is Culture?; Module #2 – What is Cultural Mapping?; Module #3 – Why Map?; Module #4 – How to Map?
The training culminated after the reporting of the field work results which is part of Module #4, which is actual field work activity where interviews and data gathering in their respective community.
Sto. Nino is the fifth town that has undergone Cultural Mapping training from ACTM, with the first 4 towns comprising of Lake Sebu, T’boli, Surallah and Tampakan.
