Tantangan National High school and Engkong Elementary School emerged as Champions in the Laro Kawayan competition final event in the high school and elementary divisions, respectively, during the 2015 Kawayan Festival held at PROTECH Center, City of Koronadal last March 7.
The contest was performed in a triathlon or 3 events such as “kadang”, “latay” and “saka”, using the bamboo as implements and played in elimination and final rounds.
A cash incentive of P5,000.00 was received by the champion schools during the awarding program.
Meanwhile, other winners in the high school category were Saravia National High School (2nd place – P3,500.00) and Koronadal National Comprehensive High School – Paraiso Extension (3rd place – P2,500.00), while Maltana National High School and Libertad National High School received consolation prize of P500.00 each.
In the elementary category, San Vicente Elementary School garnered 2nd place with a cash incentive of P3,500.00 and San Felipe Elementary School got the 3rd place with the P2,500.00 cash prize.
Consolation prizes of P500.00 each were given to Purok Sison Elementary School, Salkan Elementary School, Koronadal Central Elementary School, Bukay Pait Elementary School and Bianan Elementary School.
