Tboli town gets free wheelchairs for PWDs, senior citizens

Nine more wheelchairs were distributed today to persons with disabilities and senior citizens from the municipality of Tboli.

Said assistive devices were personally delivered by the personnel of the Provincial Disability Affairs Unit (PDAU) headed by their chief, Bryan Hervilla to the various barangays of the town.

“This program is to ensure that the government is there even for the marginalized and vulnerable sectors. ”  Hervilla said.

Beneficiaries include  Lilia T.Beting of Brgy. Kematu; Cabaw F. Diagan of Purok 4, Brgy. Lambangan; Juan M. Dala  of Purok Spring, Brgy. Lamsalome;  Sula L. Dala of  Purok Tinago,  Brgy. Lamsalome; Tanding Ming, Purok 7, Brgy. Lambangan; Lionedas Posadas of Purok Maligaya, Brgy New Dumangas;  Joshua Lopez of Brgy. Lamhaku; Carlito Tomcode of Purok Bagras, Brgy. Salacafe, and Evelyn M. Cabon of Purok 2, Brgy. Talcon.

To date, a total of   183 units of wheelchairs were already distributed to the beneficiaries. These include Norala, 39 ; Tantangan,  11;  Sto. Nino, 25; Surallah, 28;  Banga,  8; Polomolok, 7; Koronadal City, 56 and Tboli, 9.

The provincial government of South Cotabato has allocated an initial Php1.3 million for the purchase of these assistive devices including wheelchairs coming from the supplemental budget last year.

For the second semester, 300 more wheelchairs worth Php1.5 million is expected to come from the Barangay Development Fund under the Office of the Governor.

To those who want to avail, kindly submit the Barangay Certificate of Indigency and a whole-body picture of the beneficiary to the  Provincial Disability Affairs Unit for validation.
