South Cotabato, Philippines – A total of 40 patients from South Cotabato have availed themselves of the free Patient Transport Vehicle (PTV) service provided by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) this January.
The PTV service is part of the provincial government’s free hospitalization initiative, aimed at assisting patients suffering from various medical conditions who need immediate transportation to healthcare facilities.
For many residents, the cost of transportation to hospitals can be a financial strain, especially for those living in remote areas. This free transport service helps ease that burden, ensuring that patients receive timely medical attention without worrying about expenses.

“Kami nga beneficiary, dako gid ang pagpasalamat kay Governor Tamayo. Kung wala sya, wala kami kadawat sang free patient transport sa Davao paagi sa PDRRMO. Ini isa ka pamatuod nga tuod in inga programa kay kami mismo na serbisyohan kag nangin beneficiary”. said Ferdinand Silva, one of the beneficiaries.
The program is a pilot initiative under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., reinforcing his administration’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare services, especially for indigent residents facing medical emergencies.
With this service in place, the provincial government continues to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility, ensuring that no patient is left behind due to financial constraints.

For those who wish to avail of the service, the PDRRMO Operations Center operates 24/7 and can be contacted at 0927-542-6430 for Globe and TM subscribers, and 0969-191-5810 for Smart and Talk N Text subscribers.
