Koronadal City—Even during distressed, stranded passengers will smile, thanks to all the free swag through the colorful loot bags lovingly prepared by the staff of the Provincial Tourism Office.
These small bags will be distributed to Locally Stranded Individuals when they have settled in their respective seats inside the bus. A simple bundle of joy they could munch while enduring another eight-hour trip from Cagayan de Oro City to South Cotabato after their two-night 2Go accommodation from Manila.
The Provincial General Services Office delivered four large boxes of assorted food items to the Tourism Office for the incoming stranded passengers.
Dubbed as MalasaKits, South Cotabato localizes the Department of Tourism’s food kits which are handed out to arriving LSIs at airports and seaports.
Argie Ryan Asaria, Tourism Officer I and the team leader for CDO Team Sundo, said the Tourism Office prepares 300 MalasaKits.
“This is a Filipino brand of service,” Asaria said.
The colorful tote bags that are printed with Land of the Dreamweavers are an act of hospitality and service Filipinos are known for.
“This may be simple to us, but to our stranded passengers it is fun,” Asaria said reiterating one of the passenger’s claims when she was given a MalasaKits.
The Tourism Regional Office in SOCCSKSARGEN initiated the release of almost a thousand MalasaKits to stranded individuals in the last three months.
“The bag will remind them of the colors of love, compassion, and purity,” Asaria said, stressing the true colors of the Land of the Dreamweavers.
