True to the promise of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. of bringing free hospitalization services to the province, the soon to operate South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH) Dialysis Center is nearing completion with the procurement of the Php10 million worth of Hemodialysis machine complete with water system facilities, and Set-up Accessories.
Chief of Hospital Dr. Conrado Braña said they are finalizing all the necessary prerequisites for the opening of the center at the soonest possible time, which includes the License to Operate from the Department of Health.
“The long wait is over, soon our constituents can finally avail free dialysis services at the provincial hospital,” he said,
The Php10 million worth of facilities include the following:
- 10 units Dialysis machine
- 1-unit Central Treatment and Distribution
- 1-Unit Reprocessing machine
- 1 Unit Sodium Bicarbonate Mixer
- 1 Unit Dialyzer Rack
- 10-Units Dialysis Chair
- 10 Units: Automatic Voltage Regulator
- 1 Unit Digital Wheel Chair Weighing Scale
Braña however clarified that not all can avail of the facility since the capacity is still limited.
“We plan to expand to accommodate more patients depending on our allocated budget soon.” He said,
Out of the ten (10) units of the dialysis machine, Braña disclosed that for the first phase of the operation, at least seven (7) machines can be used.
“Sooner we can to add four (4) more dialysis machines based on the design capacity of the building.” He said,
Mark Lapidez, RN, designated to monitor public hospitals reiterated that the center is an addition to the list of services to be availed by constituents especially the indigents at the SCPH.
“It’s finally here and we should be happy that almost all of the promised health services of Governor Tamayo is slowly gaining ground,” he said,
The facility is situated at the newly renovated building worth Php5 million inside the SCPH. All the manpower complement has been put in-placed including the mechanics on the prioritization of beneficiaries.
The center is expected to operate in July.
