PMA’s Bagsik-Diwa Class of 2022 named female cadet from South Cotabato as class Valedictorian

CDT 1CL Krystlenn Ivany Quemado,  a 22-year-old young lass from Koronadal City was named Rank 1 and Valedictorian of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) BAGSIK-DIWA (Bagong Sibol sa Kinabukasan Mandirigma Hanggang Wakas) Class of 2022  during the Presentation of the top performing cadets held earlier today during the Kapihan sa PMA 2022.

Quemado as the class valedictorian will lead the 214 strong cadets on its graduation day slated on May 15, 2022.

The Bagsk-Diwa class  of 2022 is composed of 165 males and  49 females. Out of this total number,  104 will be assigned to the Philippine Army, 57 to the  Philippine Navy,  and 53 to the Philippine Air Force. The ceremony will be graced by no less than  President Rodrigo Duterte.

Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Superintendent LtGen. Ferdinand Cartujano stressed to all graduating cadets of the academy the importance of its core values which include courage, integrity, at loyalty.

In her  interview,  Quemado shares that her guiding principle in life is “The highest medal is a medal that God will give on judgment day.”

She believes that  “No amount of achievements and  awards can replace the medals that God can give you  on eternal life  when you give your best during your lifetime,”

Her advice to cadet aspirants is “continue to ignite the spark within your heart. As you enter the academy, there are many things and many challenges that will bring you down or may test you to the limit. However, do not forget your goals, and passion.

Quemado hails from Koronadal City South Cotabato and graduated with High Honors at the Notre Dame of Marbel University-Integrated Basic  Education (NDMU-IBED). She is a student leader during her student days before her cadetship.  Her father is a soldier and her mother is a teacher

Asked how she wants to be remembered, she said: “I want them to remember my name as someone who did not give up, despite all the challenges and downfalls of life. I want them to remember me as the one who continues to strive, and do my best  so that I could achieve my goals.”

In an interview, she wants to dedicate her achievement to her friends, relatives, and loved ones, especially her parents.

Quemado is the first PMA graduate from Koronadal City and the entire South Cotabato who receives the highest achievement in the PMA having graduated as the top of her class.
