“Buwan ng Wika” Update .. High School SPA students train on creative writing

Some 30 high school students under the Special Program for the Arts (SPA) of the Department of Education (DepED) underwent training on creative writing entitled “Writing Stories for Children “through Virtual Platform on August 18 – 19 spearheaded by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) in celebration of the “Buwan ng Wika.”

ACTM disclosed that the objective of the writeshop is to train young creative writers on writing stories with children as their readers. Aside from the training, a contest among participants is also included of which the winners will be announced on August 30.

Jenny Arado a young writer known for her winning article entitled “Dako nga Yahong sang Batchoy” was the Resource Speaker during the 2-day activity. She discussed  with the participants topics such as “Decideon your audience,” “Create your character,” “Observe your children,” among others.

This year’s “Buwan ng Wika,”theme” is “Filipino at Mga Katutubong Wika, Kasangkapan sa Pagtuklas at Paglilikha.”
