City of Koronadal – The provincial government of South Cotabato was chosen as Pilot Area in the provincial level in the implementation of Republic Act 10354 or otherwise known as The Responsible Parenthood Reproductive Health Act of 2012 implemented by the Department of Health – Commission on Population (DOH-POPCOM).
A team from the DOH-POPCOM National Implementation Team Monitoring and Evaluation Technical Working Group led by Region 4-A Regional Director Lydio Espanol conducted an orientation recently on the RPRH Law at Celema’s Place, this city.
Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes welcomed the move as it “serve as a challenge to the province if its data on health and population programs or services are accurate or on the right track.”
Part of the orientation includes Data Appreciation particularly on the Framework Indicators and Focus Group Discussion with provincial health, hospital, population, social welfare, planning, statistics, police and education officials, and NGOs.
Key Result Areas of the program are Maternal and Neo-natal Health, Family Planning, Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health, Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIv/AIDS and Gender-based Violence.
The RPRH Law guarantees universal access to methods of contraception, fertility control, sexual education and maternal care.
