Five fisher groups in Koronadal receive support for livelihood development

Koronadal City, South Cotabato — A total of 2,750 tilapia fingerlings were distributed to five fisher groups from Barangay San Isidro, Koronadal City, through the efforts of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG)-South Cotabato.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude and excitement, as the fingerlings provided them with an opportunity to enhance their livelihood. Along with the fingerlings, the fisher groups received 15 kilograms of pre-starter feeds to jumpstart the proper nourishment of the tilapia stocks.

This initiative is part of OPAG-South Cotabato’s program aimed at empowering fisherfolk by offering sustainable livelihood opportunities.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., emphasized that the program is a vital step in assisting farmers and fisherfolk who require startup capital for their ventures.

“This is one of the ways the provincial government supports our hardworking communities, helping them achieve stability and growth in their livelihoods,” the governor said.

For those interested in availing of similar assistance, the Office of the Provincial Agriculture-South Cotabato is open for inquiries at Dhalia Street, Barangay Zone IV, Koronadal City.
