LGU South Cotabato and LGU Koronadal partners for SRAA 2025 hosting

KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato and the City Government of Koronadal are set to host the upcoming SOCCSKARGEN Regional Athletic Association Meet 2025 this March 3-8, 2025, at the City of Koronadal.

The collaboration of the two LGUs ensures a much stronger partnership between the City Government and the Provincial Government in facilitating the region-wide sports event this year.

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., allotted PHP50,000,000.00 for the rehabilitation and renovation of the Rubberized Oval Track at the South Cotabato Sports Complex. The rehabilitation of the said sports facilities is one of the commitments of the Provincial Government in support of the City Government of Koronadal, where most sporting events will take place.

The Department of Education Regional Office 12 also thanked the LGUs for the collaboration.

Furthermore, DepEd 12 Regional Director Carlito Rocafort dubbed this year’s hosting – as a first in the history of Region 12 and SRAA Meet, where two LGUs co-hosted the annual sporting event.

Ngayon pa lang nagpapasalamat na kami sa City Government of Koronadal and the Provincial Government of South Cotabato sa pag tanggap ng hosting at sa mga preparasyon… Alam naming hindi naging Madali ang mga preparasyon na inilaan Ninyo para sa SRAA… Thank you po…” – DepEd 12 Regional Director Carlito Rocafort stated in a press conference.

The 2025 SRAA meet gathers more than 7,000.00 athletes from eight divisions during the week-long sports event.
