The new position Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. is holding as the new president of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) will bring more progress to the province of South Cotabato.
In an interview during his ” The Governor Meets the Press” after Monday’s Convocation early today, Governor Tamayo said it would be advantageous for the province if he will lead the LPP.
“Our province will have the opportunity to be prioritized,” he said,
He added that programs from different agencies will be accessible and he can directly negotiate with the Office of the President.
However, under his leadership, he will also see to it that all the provinces in the country will not be left behind. He will implement new initiatives which can bring progress and good governance to all provinces in the country.
He plans that on a quarterly basis, each region will host its convention which will start in Region 12 and South Cotabato will be the venue.
” We will gather all provinces and present our good practices for them to replicate. In return, they will present theirs and we can also learn from them,” he said,
He disclosed that this was never done in the past and hopes that through this practice all governors can learn from each other.
“I will ensure that all good practices will be distributed to the other parts of the country, and others can replicate what is applicable to them.
Aside from being the new LPP president, Governor Tamayo also heads the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, the political party of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Despite the two national positions he holds, Governor Tamayo ensures that he will still continue to be accessible and available to his constituents.
“It is just a matter of time management which I am trying to master.” He said.
“The people of South Cotabato is still my priority,” He said,
