Maltana ES pupil shines in Pinta Kawayan art contest

A pupil from Maltana Elementary School of Tampakan bested 6 other participants in the Pinta Kawayan art contest by garnering the first place award during the Kawayan Festival held at the PROTECH Center, City of Koronadal.

For her feat, Rozelle Genova of said school was awarded cash incentive of P3,000,00 during the awarding ceremony attended by Governor Daisy Avance Fuentes.

Other pupil-artists that made it to the top three include Keir John Alfongga of Tantangan National Trade High School (second place) and Ian Dave Aquino of Lake Sebu National High School (third place).

A cash incentive of P 2,000.00 and P1,000.00, respectively, were received by the second and third place winners, while consolation prize winners each received P500.00.

The consolation prize winners were John Andrei Teneza of San Felipe Elementary School, Michael Angelo Panuela of Surallah East Elementary School, Khalil Angelo Alfongga of San Felipe Elementary School and Bonyang Catel of Upper Maculan National High School.

Meanwhile in the Likha Kawayan contest, local artisan Andresito Francisco garnered the first place with a cash incentive of P5,000.00.

The second place went to Carlito Rabong who received P3,500.00 as cash incentive while third place winner J-lou Feren Tionson received P2,500.00.
